View Full Version : Do strings affect your playing ?

I decided to try an experiment and had my racquets strung at the same tension with two different strings - the Luxilon Big Banger Alu Power and the Head Rip Control TE 13/14. I play with LM Radicals btw. I've played twice now (two hour each time) and I can't really say that I play differently with one or the other. The Luxlion are "softer", but I feel I get the same spin, control and power.

Has anyone else tried a direct comparison ? Are these strings just very similar anyway ?

I can't give a direct comparison, but I have tried out different strings and can say that they make a big difference.

Different strings can make a big difference in different frames, at different tensions, in different conditions, and with different levels and types of players.

I have not used those particular strings or that frame, but I have done similar types of experiments with people that I string for and have found that player's review are all over the place. Some love a string, some hate it, some will think that it is OK. And even those opinions can change from time to time.

Strings definitely affect my playing-without them, I literally can't even play.

I've noticed this phenomenon as well. It has me puzzled.

Actually, I'm approaching near-master status there!

Strings affect my playing a lot. Especially when they are playing "Moon River", I get all weepy and sad like.
