I use the yonex 880ti string must have some kind of slick coating. I clean my clamps with 90% alcohol but they still slip what else could I use. I did make my clamps tighter but they still slip.

Hm. I don't know. You'd think they would't slip after the alcohol.

What kind of clamps are you using? Did you adjust the gap to be narrower? The 880 is pretty soft and will probably flatten to some degree, so you may need to clean the clamps and adjust them to a smaller gauge.

How tight do you make the clamp?

If they are clean, tighten untill they hold the string.

My Klippermate clamps I clean with 120 grit sandpaper (actually cloth based)and the gripper jaws I clean with Methylated Spirits. I find the Metho works very well on the gripper jaws and removes all the residue. I have my clamps adjusted very tightly so that the strings are slightly flattened, but they never slip and the flattening out doesn't seem to affect playability or durability.
