hi guys

i was wondering whether or not rackets decreased in length over time due to the stringing. I got a new pure drive the other day and stacked it up against my old ones and they were almost a quarter inch shorter! And I'm sure that all my rackets are genuine and the new one was not the + version so... does stringing the mains cause the head to grow shorter over the years?

Yeah, they can get a little shorter when strung. Also, I heard it is hard to find two racquets, of the same model, that are identical in size and weight.

ok thanks, that was so mind boggling when i saw the difference inlength. but then i recalled having strung my old rackets at ridiculous tensions in the past (around 65lbs or something). now that i think about it, i'm amazed the rackets survived

Racquets can "shrink" or become rounder if they are not strung using a machine with solid well-built supports. Use a professional stringer with good equipment and you shouldn't experience any problems.
