I am using my dad's old racquet and the strings are really old and move a lot when I topspin. Is this a sign that I should replace them with new strings or should I just wait for them to break?

Them moving isn't technically a sign, but if they move, then they're usually loose.
But they are old, then i would get some new strings on it, since they'll play dead and just bad while playing with it compared to newer stings
I'd say just try out some Synthetic Gut

Plus, they've probably lost their elasticity. This could lead to arm problems as the strings just don't stretch and rebound any more.

Thanks for the replies. Do you have any recommended strings for powerful groundstroke controlling?
