yes, the softer, stretcher, and more reslilient the string is, the more it will give and dwell time will be higher, allowing for more of the string surface area to be part of the sweet spot.
multifiliment will give you a bigger sweetspot when compared to a poly.

I agree. A softer, more elastic string should give you a larger sweet zone.
