I saw a couple of these threads lately, figured I might as well see if there are better options. I have a liquidmetal prestige mid. Don't ask me about my "game", because to be honest I think I'm no higher than a 2.5 according to this (http://www.usta.com/leagues/custom.sps?iType=931&icustompageid=1655) site here, and it's probably not even accurate. I honestly don't know what my "weapons" are... all I know is I hit more top spin than people who are around my level in my school.

Well, I got my racket from my dad, who strung it with team vs 17. The string is pretty much dead right now... so I'm looking to get my racket restrung. Natural Gut seems like such a waste for a beginner like me, so I don't think I'll be using those again. The "everyone-is-using-it" string around here would probably be wilson NXT, but I've been thinking about getting something different.

Would you guys say the Gosen OG-Sheep Micro 17 is pretty good? I've read a lot of positive comments on that around these boards. Is there anything else you would recommend? How's the NXT? Thanks for your help... and sorry if I asked any stupid questions.

You're a good candidate for a solid-core synthetic alright--except by now, after the VS, it will seem pretty tame. The easier solid-core transition string would be Prince's Lightning XX. A better Gosen string is OG Sheep Micro Super JC, which plays tight and wouldn't have as much juice.
