View Full Version : Altitude AND Stringing tension

I know that stringing tensions can be changed for extremes of temperature. Does anyone know of any general guidelines or have any references as to how much you should increase stringing tensions for increases in altitude(such as how much higher do you string your racquet in Denver when you are still playing with sea level tennis balls)

in Denver - and there is no altitude compensation for string tension. Although you could make a case for 10% tighter string to allow for the thinner air, the high altitude balls are the answer. We only use low altitude (standard) balls for recreational play in temperatures under 45 degrees, but NEVER in tournament or league matches.
