As some of you might have read about my horrible screwup during high school tryouts last week, it didn't happen again. Thanks to all of you who gave advice. This time I felt so relieved and relaxed. Maybe becuase there was no wind. Wind = A match thrown away.

I killed that guy 4-0 4-0 (we play 4 game sets for tryouts).

That's funny, because I wasn't pressured by him whatsoever, maybe becuase I've played with him many times before? Yet last week I played a guy who I've never played before with.

So, thanks again for all your help, and one quick question. How much are you affected by knowing your player beforehand? Like do you play better if you know the person you're playing?

Why is wind = match thrown away? Learn how to use the wind to your advantage or at least to not make it a disadvantage. Shorten up your strokes, go for a little bit less risk, etc.

Good job on your win this week. It is much harder to play someone you have never played before as you aren't used to their patterns of play and types of shots they like to hit. Easier to play someone who you have played many times before and are comfortable returning their shots. Less stressful too as you have a good idea of what the outcome is going to be going into the match.
