I was wondering if I should slightly change the place where I plant my right foot during the serve according to where I want it to go. E.g., from ad side, a bit back for a serve out wide, a bit more forward for a serve down the T, and similarly from deuce side. Does this affect the amount of shoulder rotation I get?

I'm asking this because occasionally I have trouble directing my serve properly, especially for the flat serve. When I hit too much to my left (e.g. serve from deuce side goes into the body instead of down the T) I'm pretty sure I opened my shoulders too early. When I hit to the body on ad side, instead of down the T, I just don't know. Is this issue connected to where I plant my right foot?

Any thoughts appreciated!

It could be feet related, but that is more common with a platform stance. In the platform stance having your feet planted a certain way can prevent proper rotation. With the pinpoint it doesn't matter as much because your legs are close together and shouldn't prevent rotation nearly as much. Probably you should figure out how you are setting up your hips and shoulders when you get ready to lean into the serve. Maybe you are starting them off at the wrong angle. It would be much easier if we could see an example of your serve as everything works together on the serve and one weak link in the chain can affect everything else.
