BTW Hes trying to copy Federers style no doubt, you can see traces of it everywhere, look at his serve. His backhand reminds me of Gonzo's which looks kind of awkward but effective. His slice backhands are wonderfully done, i would say 4.0 player but only because hes serve cripples his game.

Hm.. He has a nice forehand that was a great shot into the corner out wide.
The thing is.. He called the video inside-out forehand and I didn't see an inside-out forehand lol..

An inside-out swing is hitting the ball close to your body out the other way instead of pulling or hitting it in front of you. Which he did.

I presume we're focusing on the kid in red? He has good strokes, but I would say his forehand motion is closer to safin's than federer's. Just my $.02

Wristy forehands with eastern / sw grips are common, seen and hit forehands this way for some time now even before Federer came along... but not like how Federer does it with his elbow nearly completely extended on contact, thats what makes his forehand so unique is that he hits the ball with his elbow at full extension.

Wow, that actually does look like federer's shot, at least towards the end. If he would have bent his knees more and twisted his waste more for prep, it would look VERY similar to federer's shot.

theres another player on these boards that had a clip of himself, and his forehand looked more like fed, i dont think he was a frequent poster

I don't see any resemblance other than it is a FH...RH FH...
:(
Federer hit with little or no elbow bend and far out in front.

I also fail to see any resemblence between this guy's forehand and Federer's forehand.

LOL what is everyone freaking out about, the guy in the vid did a great job good for him! There I said it LOL
IMO he just needs to take back bigger and open up bigger on both sides especially the forehand.

Hm.. Oh, I was taught that when the ball is going to your backhand side you switch over to the forehand side and hit the ball.

I'm trying to figure out what makes it look so much like Feds forehand. It's something to do with the followthrough, it looks smooth and natural.

Good point. Unfortunately, the preparation phase is the opposite. But you can't argue with the result of that particular shot. It beat the other guy at that moment, and there is something to be said for that.

it is not his *controversial*( LOL ) Fed forehand that beat the other guy, but the angle. It is a good angle, it does not matter whose forehand it is.

Ahhhhh Hah! So it was the ANGLE? You mean you can win points if you put the ball away from your opponent? Regardless of your strokes or style?
I get it now! Damn...all these years of good strokes and hitting perfect balls RIGHT TO people. If I knew then what I know now.....{tears streaming down face}.
Thank you, thank you, tennis_hand! LOL! You're hired, coach!

That was such a lucky shot. He didn't set his feet or body up at all, he was just incredibly late and got lucky that it stayed in.
