today i lost first round of the pq for the itf toyota open bangkok, to this 16 year old 6-3, 6-4. it was a close match; deuces almost all games; but he was bigger and stronger than me. mind you, this was my first itf.

it was a g4... i'm a high-ranked 14 year old (u14) but the guy i played took my friend (somewhere around itf rank 450) into a super tiebreak! haha i should have gotten at least a set off of him because i was hitting a bit short, and i didn't change my playing style in time :( but the problem is that in thailand, if you have thai nationality, you go in the pq round (unless you have a ranking) where there are heaps of good players. hehe what are you? u have an itf rank?

No I don't play itf, I just play USTA, and I have a pretty high ranking.

whee! i just finished a tournament last weekend, and i came runner-up! on my way to the final, i beat the first, fourth and fifth seeds, who were all ranked a lot higher than me in the standings. here's my draw, pdf format (sorry it's in thai, i think you can find my name because i'm the runner-up).

my ranking now stands at no. 17 in thailand for the thai tennis magazine circuit (which includes the guys from last year who moved up to u16) and no. 8 for the ptt champions race (a more accurate reading; doesnt contain the older people), which gives me a chance to go for the ptt masters cup at the end of the season.

I've got a tournament this weekend doesn't look good. In the b18s are two players that have knocked me off before. We have Baird who got me in a 3rd set tiebreak in a high school match (i hate super tbs i feel better in a 3rd set) then we have Baum the guy who knocked my partner and me out of the conference tournament in doubles, he was also on the high school team who got NC state championship (he was 3 or 4 onthe team).

East Meck is where I play, although you can't call it playing on our courts. And it also sucks cuz we have arguably the best teams in the state in our conference ie. providence(state champs) wedington and adrey kell(spelling).

Oh, we beat North Meck in the first round of the state playoffs for 4A, is that the division you are in?

me who am i? noone great unless im in the zone(when im there its great i hit so flat the ball just shoots past you), but i dont know either of those guys i play with drew phillips though he used to dominate everyone here in the 12s...but then new things came along and im not gonna lie i like these distractions as well

this is my first 16 doubles win. i was playing with a 14s guy and one guy is top 50 in singels and top 20 doubs. the other guy is more like 100s/50d.
