I think if you have a rating then they send you a tournament guide full of tourneys and matchplays in the post. They do it every summer and every winter. thats how i found mine.

Just got back from my matchplays. I played 1, won 1. I'm dissapointed though. The guy i was supposed to play went home because he felt ill. The most they could give me was free entry into the next one. I should've got the win.

well i play more than 3 hours now. I take a few breaks maybe a totall of 10 minutes. What im doing is im hitting with this guy who beat josh goodall 17 times8one of them 6-0 6-0) while the coach is on the side of the court telling him and me what to do

Just got back, it was so amazing. At my usual club, we just play games which gets boring. Tonight they did some fitness with sprints and agility. it depends on what time of year it is and alot of people go around 10 or more i would say. some times it could be verry little and some times it could be 20-30 people in the group but its fun and we do alot. in the summer after we finish the 1.5 hours that we play we play on for longer by our selvs so i think all 12 courts get tooken up on friday. i havent seen it but i've been told .some times depending on the wheather we can stay for the whole 2 hours with the coach and yes it isnt really much of a session but he puts us in real match positions.

I'll probably take my racket to school and not the big racket bag but my prince one which only fits 1 racket. i might not even take my wilson one as its too much of a risk of it getting stolen i might take my prince racket instead on afew days then takem y wilson one in afew days. i can get used to rackets easily and this year no one will borrow my wilson racket as its too preciouse to me.

hey at school they dont teach you anything useful i mean i'm probabley better than alot of my group at tennis for games(thats p.e. but we get put with another 2 forms and split into 2 groups) my group is pretty crap as its everyone who wasn't on a sports team in 2007 which sucks because i can do alot more than others think i can. seriously though at school me and my friend were in the middle of a point and the teacher stops us and tells us this crap that we already know as he's mentioned it for the past few lessons of tennis. me and my friends play before registeration and st break and some times lunch time if the courts are free( we have this thing which is were our year gets the courts for one lunch time a week and other years get it aswell) and this year we might have this coach who goes to my club to come and teach us at lunch time so that will be fun. maybe the teachers will see my shots and ask me to be on the team.

I know a few people who have got 10's in p.e for tennis. Nearly everyone who has opted p.e has got a 10 in their chosen sport.

no they dont but the squash player has a national squash rating and was 4th in the uk for squash once until he hurt his back.

OK, my results from last friday are up on the LTA website, but the results from november last year still arent up! My dads gonna ring the guy up. Also this guy who was at the matchplay joined our 'clinic' and hes 9.2. I can beat him though! There was also 30th in County there, my age, and he played a year 7 guy. How unfair!

Played and won a grade 5 tournament today :D Won my first macth vs a 9.2 4-1 4-0 and buggered my hamstring, could hardly walk never mind run. Won my second vs a 8.2 4-2 4-1 and won the final vs a 9.1 5-3 4-1. Was cramping bad in my last match on serve. Couldnt jump when i served as that set it off, which really felt weird just standing there and serving.
Got another tournament tomorow so looks like a night of deep heat/icing :/

Well, i will get 39 points for getting to the semi final last week and will get 30 points today, so i think i will gain about 5 places. Tomorow its a grade 4 and i will get the #1 seed first round (7.1) :/

Blah, crap today. Lost the first round in a championship tiebreak to the guy i beat in the final yesterday. Then, lost my next match in a championship tiebreak. Had match point and bam, double fault then the next point he had a net cord. I was pissed. Won my last match double bagel vs an 8.2. Now i have enough wins to go up to 8.2 which makes me just as good as peterkblader the pro.

Am happy because I came through a 3 set match without my ankle swelling up at all... but am annoyed because he cheated me out of the third set. I am pleased because I played well at times though, and I couldnt really have expected any more since this is only like the 7th time ive played since i broke my ankle and my first match.. first set i was absolutely crap until I got into it, second I played well and third i was just too tired to win.

Oh yea mate I was meant to do that review... Yea you are correct I had the BCI before my vapors.

The GR2's are quite similar to the BCI but have much better ventilation and more comfort around the toes. In terms of weight I would say they are quite similar (take into consideration that the GR2's are half a size too big for me whereas the BCI were the right size). I would say overall the GR2's are a much better shoe. One thing though, the BCI have more of a sock like fit around the ankle (cuz of the weird sock tongue) and are easier to tighten whereas the GR2's tongue is pretty chunky.

Been nearly 3 weks since the cortisone - I will be picking up a racquet again this week to see how it has recovered, it feels okay but not totally convincing. I've been keeping fit, but it seems to take longer to get mentally match fit as I get older. It takes a few matches before I can maintain the concentration for 3 sets. I would haev thought concentration should improve as you age, but for me the opposite is true. Perhaps because I am still fine tuning my game.

I have points to defend next month in ITF events so would like to be ready in time for those.

Couple of months. I just lost the passion, I can't explain why, I just lost the will to win matches and I wouldn't care if I lost. So I took a leave, I didn't know if I would come back. But I had a match on Saturday, and I played really well, and I felt the fire again.

The passion's back, the want to do well. And so, tennis is back in my life.

Tofi dude, you don't have to enter tournaments to be better than a 10.2. It's real easy, just go win like three matches. Getting for 10.2-9.2 is easy.

Just got some mail in the post. A contract from Tecnifibre actually. I emailed them like 3 months ago and apparently they've now gotten round to it.

I can get their rackets for genujinely cheaper pirces, like the T-Fight 295 is only 73 quid if I wanna buy it, it's really good. The contract would last two years. I'll show it to my dad later today, fingers crossed he'll be optimistic about it, i'll earn the money myself anyway.

depends sometimes its out of the court sometiems its out of the box by about a a foot or 2. tbh im controling them more now and its getting better but meh, i also have to get better by next year for work exp and stuff at my club coz well i really dont want to go into a nursery as work exp lol.

i entered my clubs junior box league and they stuck me in the last box right at the bottom :L the kids in my box are half the size of my leg, if i lose to them i might consider quiting tennis coz i've lost the past i dunno 6 sets i'vep layed and i dont like the fact that im losing although i know where im going wrong.

and supposingly it is one of the leading school
(as far as it is in Winchester, suppose to be damn good!...)
Anyway they do tennis in P.E. but no proper coaching since the teachers suck as well, literally...

I play for my universities first mens team, so we dont technically have rankings (as the tournaments I play are BUCS's organised etc, and not LTA) but its a great place to play tennis. As a top 10 UK tennis university team, we get to play qualifying for a few mens 15k events in the spring, so im looking forward to that!

I'm going to get back into LTA tournaments after university, thinking of joining Southdowns Tennis Club, check it out, it looks awesome...

But, the thing i don't like is the tournaments never have a consistent amont of 9.2s to 8.1s in kent. i went to beckenham, played the number 7 in cumbria, lost in straight sets, but then nearly beat the 4th best player in yorkshire :)
