maybe 7.1. I dont need to work on technique any more as it is very good now. I Just need to work on the mental and hit a lot of balls

Mind putting up a vid. I'll probably put one up around the end of Jan. Need to focus on my school work right now

My dad says that Nadal & Federer still have to work on Technique , so I guess that makes you better than them :)

well yeah nadal works on his technique sometimes, but both for him and me, that is not wot u need to focus on. The mental is the most important ;-)

So your comparing the stage you're at to Nadals? You actually think that at 14/15 years old that you don't need to work on your technique? Really???

Tofi do you have coaching?

Tofi
01-03-2009, 12:43 PM
i dont have one to one coaching atm i wish to but atm i'm fine with just getting coached in a group of around 8 people or a little more and playing against afew of my friends. i might ask my friends to do this thing with the coach that gets us better at 3 or 4 differnts strokes and our serves. i'm thinking the group should be a max of 4 people.

Its working on your strokes and serves with a coach in a small group and i think its a 5 week thing 1 day a week. i'll have to check tomorow as i have a ladder league game. from what i remember it says on the ad at the club:
topspin forehand, backhand, volley serve and i think there was another thing but i have to check.

SaunderS these are the exact requirements copied straight from email:
Criteria:

To qualify for a free of charge contract (only 2 in each age group):

Top 10 in national rankings or one of the top ten British players in the Tennis Europe rankings.

To qualify for a preferential rate contract (only 5 in each age group):

Top 40 in national rankings or one of the top 40 British players in the Tennis Europe rankings.

SaunderS
01-04-2009, 02:14 PM

petekbladetour1, i don't want to be a downer but, i'd give up on your hopes of getting sponsored by wilson, seriously. In fact, stop thinking about getting any kind of sponsorship.

Why have 6 K blades when your 50th in the county ?????
Seems a bit silly :)

Should spend more time training and less wasting money on rackets :)

hang on a sec... dident you read in my other post how much i play?
i used to play 6 hours a day. 6 h a day took alot of stress on the body so now i play 2-3h a day. And that is the reason for so many rackets. i break alot of strings when i play that much. when i used to play in sutton, one racket would last me 2days. It took 3 days for the laddy there to restring it. and that is also the reason i bought a stringing machine :-)

Hey guys. welcome to the forums rozy. I have to say pete 6 of the same racket wtf. i bet you dont even play level 2 or 3 tournys. i would only get 6 of the same racket if i'm excelent or more than excelent like in the top 500 in the uk or so. at this point though 2 rackets is enough. if you break strings that easily then stop using those strings and use more durable ones.btw what strings do you use??

Look, he has his methods. He's obviously encouraged by his parents to play tennis unlike me, so all the luck to him. Just cos he has 6 rackets doesn't make him any worse or better. Maybe he's a chronic string breaker, unlike me and Saunderss.

robertg06
01-05-2009, 10:05 AM
@ Saunders: Well, I've had a long battle with backhands and I've never really made a proper decision. About a year ago I started playing with a one hander and it started to get really good, but it wasn't stable enough and was a bit loopy...A few days ago, I started to use it again and it was really good, really consistent and could hit loads of winners. Technique wise, it's far better than my two hander but my two hander used to be more solid. Overall, I prefer the one hander's elegance and beauty, and I enjoy hitting a one hander, it feels a lot nicer to me.

@ Rozy: Haha, I do try.

God Tofi I think you need to learn what's needed and whats not. I'm sorry to say this and this is out of complete honesty;
You rightfully said you're about a 3.0 so (no offence) I doubt you really need a poly let alone 2 reels of it. You also said you're not a stringbreaker so why on earth would you need a reel, in my opinion you could probably make a reel last for at least a decade if you didn't care about the tension drop. Next, you can/may explain "oh they go dead after a week" but for your level I doubt the tension matters that much and I also doubt they go dead after a week cuz I'm sure you're not hitting the ball hard enough to make them go dead after a week.

I know. I just went over to u16 and only played one tournament, where i didnt play particulary well.

Hey you know that matchplay that you played at Riverside Northwood. Well the kid you lost to (Asher Spencer)... The kid that beat him is a kid I hit with.

This one:
