I have a question regarding medical appeals. I tore my ACL and meniscus playing tennis this past July. The below Q/A came directly from my Sectional website.

Viz, usually the appeal is to get moved down. Is that what you want?

I've had two players from my team who were DENIED appeals after torn ACL and reconstructive surgery. I'm not sure the medical appeal is relevant any more...I cannot think of any condition short of losing a limb that would be granted.

it is a lot tougher than it used to be, that's for sure.
The only medical appeal I've seen granted in the last two years is a permanent disability. If you can get better they don't seem to grant them any more.

Sorry about your injury. Been there, done that. You'll be denied the appeal.
Hit the bike during the off-season. Retool your game to compensate for the bum wheel. Maybe switch to doubles. You'll be fine, and USTA knows it.
