Hello. I was wondering:

Do any of you ProStaff 6.0 85 users out there use a Semi-Western forehand grip? If so, how does it work out for you? Also, what strings and tension do you use? Thank you much!:)

I have a SW fh grip. I string my PS85s with a gut/poly hybrid at very low tension. VS gut 17g/SPPP at 46/48#.

Does this work very well for you? Are you able to hit through the ball and drive it?

Oh God yes it does!! I get so much spin with the the string setup, it's quite amazing. I can also flatten out my stroke a bit more if I have to. My only caution is concentrating on getting my volleys right. An open face with low tension will pop the ball up and will sail on me.

Not too big on grip terms - I hit very flat, whatever grip you call that. pacific force 18 @ 64 lbs.

I use a semi-western grip where the grip and my forearm form a 90 degree angle with my wrist all the way back. I use this grip to get maximum racquet head acceleration on my forehand. With the old Pro Staff it works very well since the head is only 85 inches. If you hit fairly flat this grip will work well for you. It's not too extreme like a full western but is still accomodating for lower shots.

Semi-western grip. 4 5/8. 17 gauge VS team 60 lbs. Hit flat mainly. Use some topspin to pass when opponent is at net.

Semi western grip here also. Can't for dear god do a full western or eastern.

It also depends on your swing style. I can drive it deep if i wanted to, just gotta push it through more.

I string poly at 52lb mains and multifilament at 50lb crosses. Popped three strings at once yesterday... so i'm getting a restrung soon.. im going to do 50lb main and 48lb crosses this time to add more power and spin to the 85" frame.
