I saw the Wise 2086 electronic tension head off of a link on somebody's post. I think it looks pretty cool and might be a good idea for a lot of people wanting to upgrade their machines.

I've only seen it though and have no clue how nice (or bad) it actually is. Anyone know where you can get it and how much it costs??? Does it work pretty good???

$495 + shipping is the cost. No experience with it personally, but I have heard others recommend it, and it's a nice and fairly cheap way to upgrade a crank.

I have one. It's nice. It is accurate and does a good job. Good way to add on to an existing machine you really like. Very simple.

However, if you are looking for a new machine, I would go to a full electronic machine and expect to pay at least $1600.

Do these things ever go on sale? I wanna get one but I just can't justify $500 right now. Like $450...sure. :p

I have never seen them on sale. I have had mine almost two years, great device! When I bought mine, the foot pedal was another $35. The foot pedal is well worth the price...

The Wise is a pretty good unit. I have one now and it has performed quite well. Since it is essentially available only directly from Wise I have never seen the unit sell for less than the current $495.00 price. This seems like a good deal since a few years ago it used to sell for $695.00 and the electronics are probably better now in the $495.00 unit than they were in the $695.00 unit.
