ive searched but i cant find a thread relating the yonex mp-tour 1 or ti-80 to the rdx or rds. im thinking of switching from my 85 to one of these but i cant decide or demo all of them. i think 85 was just a litle too demanding but people say that the midsizes feel more like 95's so yea any comments or pointers would be appreciated. thx.

There's plenty of info of the kind you're asking for here in this forum. Problem is the search function doesn't seem to work well since the software was updated a few days ago.

I would say that the rds mid is an easier version of the prostaff 85(it's lighter). I've kept the original HL racket balance by putting a strip of lead right on the balance point on the throat and it's still very manuaverable. I've also discovered the joy of low tension. I use semi-western grips and the spin I've found at 50 mains - 48 cr is absolutely amazing. The extra spin results in more control! You should also demo the mp and rdx mid and mp.

small head like the 85 but very very forgiving, as forgiving as a midplus, huge sweetspot, lead it up to be closer to the ps 85.

Very good for hitting both flat and with heavy topspin, great for slices and the backhand, a true players racquet.

you have to take the full swing as well to generate any power but it's a terrific racquet, for the first time in my life i've bought two of the same racquet and plan to buy two more when yonex discounts them when it's marked for discontinuation.

are we talking about all midsize versions of the mp tour, rdx, and the rds001?

i've owned the mp tour-1 98, rdx500 mid, and the rds001 mid and imo, the rdx500 mid or the rds001 mid will probably be the best step from the 6.0 85.

out of the rackets mentioned, the rdx500 is closest in power while the rds001 mid is the closest in terms of feel since the rds001 is more crisp and solid.

im going for midsizes since i use a one handed backhand and it wouldb better and i enjoy the feel more. the reason for the switch is also i dont s&v or all court much. i usually baseline so thats y i would think the rds001 is my lowest bet, and it was between the rdx, ti-80, and mp-tour

Yeah, Yonex midsize racquets feel a bit bigger because of the hexagon shape.

Since there are only 2 90si. Yonex's on the market, I would go for the RDX 500. Or the RDS 001.
