i have ordered some string through the mail, can any damage happen to the string by sitting in my mailbox in some 20 degree temps...

Yes, it is possible, but it depends on the type of string, for polys and nylon, you're not looking at as big of a problem, but gut is typically not a great idea to leave out in the cold. The good part is most gut is sealed against moisture, so any condensation (if/when it warms up a little) is not going to be a problem. It's not recommended, but it probably won't kill you ;)

yea its a multi string, so i am guessing it will be ok, it is going to be sitting in my mailbox for a night and its like 10 degrees out....
