What are some drills that I can use for working with my players during the pre-season that can help. I only have a few mapped down right now, such as footwork drills (Caroica step and suicides), shot practices (Smash and Volley, The Lob Game), and other stuff. Can anyone give me good drills?
Also note, even as the captain/co-captain, I feel like I am going to have to do alot since my coach sucks, so thats why I have been asking for help.

For doubles teams: four players at net, two per side, and you are the feeder back at the "T" with a bucket of balls. Hold your racquet at the throat and pop half-speed balls to the two across the net to get rapid reaction volleys going among the four of them--only one ball in play at a time. As soon as one ball is gone, start another one, and switch sides half way through the bucket. This develops reaction skills and comfort levels at the net in a big hurry. Insist that nobody play beanball and be vigilant for spent balls rolling under feet. You can also have one feeder to only one or two volleyers and this really ups the intensity!
For singles/doubles players: A baseliner feeds a deep ball to a "charger" at the opposite baseline, their return shot is hit short (not a drop shot) for the charger to hit an approach and follow to net, and the baseliner tries to pass while the charger tries to volley through an open court. No drops or lobs are allowed and you'll need two or three chargers so that one is always ready to start the next turn. You can also start the drill with a short ball for the charger to follow in right away.

for singles, i've always like the cross-court, DTL drill. this is where one player hits strickly cross courts while the other down-the-line, alternate after a few rallies. This is a great way to work ur directional control and keeps ur feeting movin'.

There are other threads on your subject. You'll find them with some creative SEARCHES.
P.S. Maybe it has to do with the Upgrade of several weeks ago, but I haven't seen one link in those old threads which actually went where it was supposed to. You'll have to be determined in your searching....
