Having wide feet I use New Balance 4E's purchasing them in lots of 10 at a time as I live in London and they are not available in the U.K. So each time I buy it is worth purchasing in bulk to reduce the international shipping costs etc...

I am just going through my last couple of pairs of 801's since which time the 1000 and 1001 models have come onto the market.

I assume these higher grade performance shoes are worth the extra cash, is there any real difference between 1000 and 1001 ?

Thanks in advance

I got a 1001 under the NB guarantee as the 800 wore out. I asked for 801 replacement but they didn't have any so they sent the 1001 instead.

it has a mesh upper and feels very thin and doesn't give much support. I've got some 801's now and they are more similar to the 800, much better. I definitely would not get 10 of the 1001 without trying it first.
