Who here does this?
It's kind of annoying, especially when the player does it right after a bad shot.
Seems like their blaming their bad shot on the uneven strings.
Meh, any thoughts?

It is often recommended to players to do this simply to focus on something other than losing the point and it helps them get ready for the next one. I don't have a problem with it at all, in fact I do it a lot of times just to slow myself down.

i string pick after a bad shot. not blaming the racquet but i think about what went wrong, usually some mechanics (i.e. bend legs not back, keep head down) i just tell myself that while looking at the strings.

i used to until i switched to poly strung at 68lbs. now they dont move and moving the strings back is useless. but it is a focus thing for most. why does it bother you. everyone does things there way. focus on you and you will get better.

As a coach & instructor who is a habitual string-picker, I recommend it to all my students as a way to slow down their playing & refocus on something other than the last shot they might have missed. I encourage them to do it regardless of whether or not they won the last point & regardless of whether or not their strings need to be readjusted. With younger players, I tell them to 'rearrange their strings into a smiley face' so that they have fresh in their mind, positive imagery as they start the next point.
If I found an opponent who thought this was annoying after every point, I'd make sure to prolong this in between points as much as possible.

The string pick is a fact of tennis. And it really is rather helpful. To the OP, get over it.
