I've played in my everyday basketball adidas forever. Do shoes specifically for tennis make an actual difference. And if so, what?

I think the shoes make a difference, our couch got our team some head shoes, ionno wat kind but they slowed me down a lot, then when i changed to some Nike shoes i moved way better, i was faster and i was moving my feet more... i guess cause the head shoes were heavy
