I turn 30 in April. Does that mean as of my birthday I can play in Men's 30 tournaments? Or do you have to have x amount of months under your belt before you can do that?

Look on the USTA site. It's not your exact birthday. I believe if you turn the age in the year, you are okay.

When you sign up for a tournament through tennislink, all the the available divisions you are eligible for will show up.

The age that you will be on December 31st of that year is what age group you are eligible for.

For instance, I turn 35 in March of this year, and I was eligible to play 35 and over events on January 1st because I will be 35 years old by December 31st of this year. I played my first event in this category a couple weeks ago even though I'm still 34 for a couple more months.

As goober stated, if your birthday is correct with the USTA, you should be able to sign up for an event through TennisLink (and it will show you as eligible for that age category).
