I heard the NTRP is getting outdated. There is this ITN rating. I am not sure about this. Perhaps someone can elaborate more.

Rating from 10.0 to 1.0 I think. I would say I'm a 3-4, but technically a 8.5 according to my results :p

Internation Tennis Number... its a series of tests to determine your number. Pros would be up @ 1... beginners 10

The LTA have a rating system where 1 is Murray, Henman, Rusedski etc and 10 is absolute beginner, with 5.1 and 5.2 etc in between.

There is no doubt in my mind that the NTRP is a far better system and user friendly. The LTA system does not allow for self evaluation either - if a coach says you're a 7.2 and you have beaten players at a higher level, it's tough luck. You have one chance over 5 minutes for the coach to decide your level then you're stuck with it unless a different coach evaluates you 6-12 months later.

If you play enough tourneys (impossible for an adult in employment?) you can slowly climb, but it's difficult.
