View Full Version : Shoulder/elbow sore after serving

Most of the time I play, I rally back and forth for a few hours. I get an excellent workout and I have no noticable pains. However, I like to practice serving too. I notice my shoulder (feels like rotator cuff) and elbow are sore after serving for a little over an hour with alot of balls. Is this normal, or is my technique wrong, perhaps?

just wondering do you stretch it out before and after you serve? i used to have this problem and stretching helped out a lot.

No, actually I do not stretch. This sounds like a good idea. With tennis I just go out there and start hitting. Next time I'll do some shoulder and arm stretches and hopefully it will mitigate any pain I experience later. Thanks.

Do a couple of laps around the court before you stretch. Remember, stretching on cold muscles = injury.
