I think he will be #1 for the next three or four years or so... (if he stays healthy and he seems to have balanced his schedule well enough for that). I don't see anyone catching him.

He will break the most total weeks at #1 of 277 by Sampras before his streak of consecutive weeks at #1 ends. I expect him to end 2009 having not once lost the #1 ranking since taking it over at end of January of 2004. There will be somebody(I think) closer in points then now, but he will still be at top.

Till the end of 2008 at least. 2009 will be the year he's going to slow down. We'll see who can get the #1 spot from him.

He will hold the number 1 spot until he breaks Petes record of 14 slams. After that if there isn't some kind of record he wants to break I have a feeling he'll slip in the rankings.
