Oh wait, I've heard this one before. Just like Gonzo will beat Federer in the Aussie Open final.

i'm not saying that its going to happen, but i just need to mention one thing. how on fire is haas right now over the past 2 weeks. its ridiculous, he won memphis without facing a break point the entire tournament destroying roddick 3,2 in the final and now he's just rolling beating olivier rochus whos a very solid player himself 2,0 today. and if kristian pless and djokovic both took fed to 3 this week already, haas definitely has a chance. once again i'm not saying that its going to happen, but you have to acknowledge that he definitely has a chance here.

Maybe this former #2 in the world is finally getting back to where he was before injuries dragged him down.

Good luck federer is going to own him. The most haas wil get is a set. People always forget about federer's "extra gear" that clicks when players somewhat challenge him.

Haas has been on fire lately and matches up extremely well with Federer (at least, as well as anyone not named Nadal). Federer has been shaky as of late. That means Haas has a fighting chance.

Your crystal ball is dirty. Clean it and you'll see the truth: FEDERER TO BEAT HAAS.

People have a better chance over 3 sets against FED, but it seems FED can up his game in the 3 set.

I can't see anyone beating FED 2-0 atm, but having said that, HAAS (like everyone) has a chance if he plays well in the 3rd set.

Hmmm, this kind of reminds me of how 'hot' roddick was coming into the AO semi final... with everybody acknowledging that he has a chance :)
It will be an interesting match for sure but I don't think Haas will win - Keep in mind he was recently defeated by Vince Spadea, and Gonzalez absolutely crushed him at the AO too.

Haas normaly has no chance to beat Federer but he is playing at a rare peak of his game, and Federer isnt as sharp this tournament as he was at the Australian Open or year end Masters, so Haas has a chance, still Federer in 3 sets or 2 close sets probably.

Everybody is so gay and in love with Federer that even if Federer has a serious injury and would by lying on the court unable to move his opponent would be hitting unforced errors all the time just to make sure Federer wins. I have a feeling Federer will be undefeated for the whole year.

I am a prophet and my prophecy is true!

I said in the title of the thread that Haas will beat fed tomorrow, which is today.

I didn't say he was gonna beat him in the courts.. I mean he's gonna beat fed's stick, after the match. It's happening right now as we speak, in da locker room.

Hass CAN beat Federer. Can say that only about a few - Nadal, Safin.

Only when he plays badly. In decent days he smokes all of them. BTW 6-4, 7-5 straight sets against HAAS.

Up until todays match Haas hasnt beaten Federer since 2001 Australian Open now. He has played great tennis all year so far so good for him. However there are multiple players who has proven they have a better shot to beat Federer then Haas does up until today. A 29 year old who hasnt beaten Federer in 6 years prior to today match is not one of the best chances to beat him.

you have 2.0 players, 3.0 players, 4.0 players,...., professional players, top professional players, and then you have Federer.

Top pros like Haas don't have a chance against Federer on the fast surfaces unless he has an off day.

So, who can beat Roger Federer?

So, who can beat Roger Federer?

Right now, I think only Federer can beat himself on the fast surfaces (by playing badly or playing injured).

If Federer is playing well, I don't see Nadal, Roddick, Davydenko, Gonzalez, Blake, Robredo, Ljubicic, Haas, or Nalbandian beating him. And those are the current world's top ten tennis players !

Federer is a level above all of those guys.

This is pretty impressive. At his best, Haas is very solid top 3 material, and Federer isn't playing that good right now, or, at least, the scores would suggest he isn't. So for B game Federer to beat A game Haas shows just how many more gears Federer has than even top 5 players.

Federer has beat the guy he will face in the final 8 times, and his opponent has never beat him.
