Only forward, unless you're a baseball catcher, a punk, or under 21. Truckers were sooooo 2002.

Regular or low-profile crown and ALWAYS forward! Baseball catchers being the only exception....but only when actually catching.

forwards definitely. When I see someone with their cap backwards, I walk up to them and tell them they looks absolutely ******** and to flip it forward. Though I don't tell that to the big scary people. Just to people my size and smaller, hehehe.

I go forward. Look's way better ;)..

I chose Normal and Trucker, it really matters what kind of mood i'm in and how the day is going. Trucker hat's are really nice though.

I used to wear is backward( yes i am under 21, and i am a punk), but the sun burns my face here down in Houston. So now i wear it foreward. Im thinking about changing back to backward, but i need to cut my hair first. I loved watching Lleyton Hewitt as a kid, and i still do, so i am used to wearing it backward. I also sometimes might pop out a come on!!! I might point my fingers to my face also, if i win a tournament;)

Backwards playing, forwards teaching or sometimes when hitting. I can't play with it facing forwards, I hate stuff in my field of vision, and can't serve with it on forwards. Sometimes I wear a bandana, but I like the backwards hat better. As soon as I am not playing anymore, I turn it around though.

Wearing your cap backwards? So 2001 and idiotic looking.

I thought visors were 2001.

I wear it forward for the sun protection. If it is not sunny, I go w/o a hat.

Fifteen years ago when I had long hair, I used a bandana. Sometimes a headband. Sometimes a hat backwards.

BTW, backwards is the new forward.
Oh, and wearing it tilted to the left is the new tilted to the right.

Hey, we all do crazy things when we are about eight

No question about it.

I can't believe I even remember this, but I had a black and yellow John Deere Trucker hat when I was eight. And I'm from the city. Why did I even have a hat? Back in the seventies (as far as I remember), there were fishing hats, tweed hats, formal hats and hats for baseball. Not tennis. Unless you were Frew McMillan, or you wore an Aussie hat like Laver or Rosewall.

At the age of nine, I wanted to put a US flag patch over that hat. Or a Superman patch. That hat would have been in demand in 2003. Never got to it, the hat ended up at the Salvation Army.

Back to the thread....I haven't worn a trucker hat since.

I used to have a couple of Global Caps -- Wilander and Pernfors' company. I used to teach at a club that carried them (before they sold them over the web)...I had a US one that I bought on the way to a Davis Cup tie (which I wore once a year max), a Greece, an Argentina and a Finland (I like white&blues). Had an England and a Canada (I like white and red too, and I've got family there). Got a friend who borrowed my England hat for St. Paddy's day once. Kind of a jerk move, but funny.

Global Caps were made of a thick cotton. Too thick for warm weather, I felt. Held up in the laundry and looked good faded. But really sweaty.

Now the only hats I wear for tennis are these really thin, polyester caps with the vents on top. The club I play at carries them with the club logo on the front. I bought like eight of them in white with a black logo. Blocks the sun, sweat goes away and they are so light, you don't even feel them.

I'll wear a cotton polo for tennis at times, but not a cotton cap (unless it's too cold to sweat, which is rare).

My friend decided to wear his cap backward today.

What do you think that situation deserves: a ***** slap, a pimp slap/backhand, or a punch. I really felt like smackin him in some way because he looks so amazingly stupid.

03-18-2007, 06:17 AM
Why didn't you just beat him?

03-18-2007, 06:21 AM
Guys, I agree that you look like a wannabe poser if you wear your hat backwards, but I have a reason. I am a little thin on top, but the bill of the hat drives me crazy when I serve or look up. However, if I don't have a hat on, I get a very nasty sunburn. Very painful. For this reason alone, I wear the cap backwards when I am playing. My 22 year old son and 19 year old daughter think this is VERY funny! BTW, I am a 52 year old 4.5/5.0 singles player.

03-18-2007, 06:31 AM
^^^Yup yup, same here except for the 52 year old 4.5/5.0 part, and the thin on top part, and the kids part.

I hate stuff in my field of vision, and can't serve with it on forwards

My thoughts exactly. I usually just wear it to keep sweat off of my face. I think we can all agree that a backwards hat looks better than some gay wannabe basketball player type headband.

03-18-2007, 12:59 PM
I wear my hat foward when dealing with the sun and such. Other than that I will turn it around. It helps keep more of the sweat off my face, and is less likely to fly off.

03-19-2007, 09:17 AM
Forward & normal; too much influence from baseball & softball in a previous life to do otherwise.

03-19-2007, 09:28 AM
Cool. Hey, what was the name of the boy band you were in back then?

rofl. you rock.

03-19-2007, 09:39 AM
Outdoors: forward / Indoors: backward (as a few others mentioned, the bill gets into your field of vision)

I really just wear a hat to absorb sweat and keep the sun off my head.

03-19-2007, 09:47 AM
if its fitted backwards, otherwise forward

03-19-2007, 10:16 AM
What about sideways?

03-20-2007, 11:25 AM
No option for no hat. I can't stand having anything on my head when playing. It's a distraction to me.

03-20-2007, 12:00 PM
Where in the hell do you young boys buy those hats with the bills in the back? The only ones I can find have the bill in the front.

Mr. Sean
03-20-2007, 04:00 PM
Guess no one wears visors anymore. How about wearing your hat donald young style crooked and too the left.

03-20-2007, 04:15 PM
forwards on the sunny side and when serving, backwards when returning and not looking at the sun. There's nothing wrong with a backwards hat.

03-21-2007, 10:18 AM
Where's the option for a fitted hat?
