A couple weeks back I switched string setups from the one in my signature to full SPPP at 60# -- I played the set of my life. I ended up losing the second two sets though (lapse in concentration and just couldnt get back on track.) But this is not the topic...
That night I served the best I have in a long time.
The next day though... my right arm hurt a whole bunch. I've never had right arm problems in my life and since the right arm is my favorite arm (for the obvious reasons :)) I'm a little paranoid about it. I didnt play tennis for the next 3~4 days at all, but my arm was still hurting. I my arm was at about ~85% when i played next. The next morning it was hurting again, but not nearly as much as the first time.
Right now it's a couple weeks later, I've not changed anything, and still been playing. I'd say my arm is at about ~99% right now.
But the reason for my topic is as follows:
I thought it may be the full poly setup that hurt my arm. I decided against this though. I used to use a kevlar hybrid and never had any arm problems. Also, it doesn't make me sore now... so it seems to just be a one time thing.
After consulting various nursing majors and such, i've pretty much concluded that the part of my arm that hurt was the deltoid and that it's a muscle. I was told that you can pull or rip it, etc etc... so I figure maybe I did something like that?
I figure that's what happened. I haven't really served all out for a while. And I don't think I have since I've leaded up my warriors up to 12ozs... so maybe that's why. Or maybe I adjusted my service motion without realizing it incorporating the deltoid more than I have before?
Anyway... just want to be sure and take precaution if needed. Any doctors out there know if there's anything I should watch out for?
