I was just wondering how long it took you guys out there to get a consistent first serve down (dinking it in doesn't count). I've been playing for over a year now and it just seems impossible to get a majority of my first serves in. I'll usually serve really great in the first set I play and just go downhill from there. I'm sure I'll get it in due time, but I was just wondering how long it took everyone else to develop a consistent first serve. Thanks.

Look at how much spin you are getting on your serve. If it is very flat is will always be difficult to get it consistent Slice or especially topspin will give you a much more consistent serve.

My serve is consistent in, but it is a Dementieva...
I think serving % and 1st and 2nd serve winning % have to be looked at all together.
