How can I add lead to my APD. Theres a removeable butt cap, but inside there are 4 screws in the way. I got 14 g of lead ans cut it into a couple layer of reasonably sized strips, I folded it in half and stuck it like a V to the divider. I had trouble sticking it evenly because there were 4 screws in the way so I kind of jammed it in. But when Im playing I constantly hear the lead shaking and one time the lead even got up to the head of the racquet. Can anyone reconmend some alternative way of experimenting with lead in the butt?

Thanks

tape it directly to the butt cap.

can you explain exactly where the 4 screws are?

You can just wrap it under the grip or use hot melt glue instead of lead, but be aware the glue is near impossible to remove so make sure its what you really want first.

i dont have a camara but heres a rough sketch of where the screws are located. The red line is the divider and as you can see, the 4 screws couldnt be placed any more perfectly so stop me from adding lead.

And I dont think taping would work, the layer of lead(14g) would be too thick...

Ohhhhh. Well your in a tough situation...

It sounds like cutting the lead is the best thing to do.

Hope something works out.

From your drawing you could possibly cut the screws since they seem to be quite a bit longer than they need to be to presumedly hold the butt cap on.

i agree the glue is tough to remove, the best way to remove it, actually, is with a cork-screw! trust me it works!

i use Blu-Tak (or the 3M equivalent)... it's cheap, moldable, very adhesive, and easy to remove!!! try it... i have 10g in my handle (plus i tape lead to the handle under the origianl grip).

Look at the TW customization page

You just buy some blu tack and wrap it around the lead parts you want to add in your racket's butt. This will make the lead unmovable so that there is no vibration from the lead movement and also it will add a couple of grams so you won't need all the lead to do it.

I find leaving a racquet how its made is the easiest way to customize it

try online... but 3M makes the same product (Comes in a 52gram pack, looks like small sticks of blue gum)... found in a local hardware store, used for hanging posters and such... Blue Wall Poster Adhesive by 3M ($2)
