Volkl users, please help......

I'm almost 59 and play at the 3.5 level. My main stay has been the Volkl
DNX V1 and recently have been trying the DNX 3. I like the playing
characteristics of the DNX 3, i. e. slightly more powerful, nice touch, etc,
BUT it doesn't have that solid "thud" feeling when you hit the ball
compared to my V1. Simply not as comfortable.

Would adding lead tape remedy this, and where should I add it?

Stick with your V1. Just put 1-2" of lead tape at 3/9 and string with a soft multifilament or gut at 60# or so. Then add more tape in 1/2 to 1" increments to increase power OR reduce string tension 1/2 pound at a time until you get the extra power you seek. ;)

Currently have my V1 strung with a natural gut hybrid just over
mid range. Will try some lead as you state and see what happens!?
