practice by running from singles line to other sideline and then turn on the ball of your foot like a hockey stop you will get it and quickly learn how to use it trust me, by the way red clay is harder to slide on

Once you play on clay it becomes a natural thing to slide. Theres no tutorial needed, you'll get it once you play

i grew up on red clay so I really don't know how to explain it really
take small steps from side to side
then try to do it faster until you can adjust to it
green "clay" is way faster to slide on

I'm playing on artificial grass where sliding is really easy. I usually do it for every shot. When I play on (red) clay however, I get stuck when sliding :/

As being said, I should play more on clay so it becomes natural.

Try to run with your socks on on a parquet floor. That way, you could feel the way you should slide to stop and change directions, instead of simply stopping all of a sudden.

It's possible to slide on hard surfaces also. This usually happens to me when my shoes are getting worn down.

Have a read of Oscar Wegners book, he explains it pretty well.

slide to the ball... that way as soon as you hit it you can get back to position .. dont hit the ball then slide to stop yourself, it saves alot of time and give you a few more steps
