I think I saw that name in the qualifying draw of a challenger in Zimbabwe coming up next week.

I think that's what I saw, I wasn't surprised since he's been struggling to get through first round of main draws on hardcourts lately, and with all the points to defend, I wasn't a bit surprised...

Federer is known for his clever and strategic choice of tournaments that he participates. He doesn't waste his time with small tournaments and focuses on the ones that give the most points. He is the opposite of Davydenko who participates almost everywhere :D

Federer generally only plays the Masters and Grand Slams, with the exception of Queens and Basel.

I don't think he plays Queens.

There are a few other exceptions. He plays Dubai, too. Also Bangkok and one of the tournaments in Japan (which, of course is where his alter-ego, Captain Wasabi was born).

Thanks for the Correction. I knew there was one other Grass Tourney, also forgot about Dubai and he has been playing Kooyong the last few years as warm-up to Aussie Open, although it is exhibition.
