Unfortunately we won't see a nadal/canas final. Canas w.o v. Davydenko to-day

Caņas won his match against Davydenko. Davydenko withdrew with arm pain. So a final is still possible.

When's the last time nadal lost a set on clay?

nadal beat canas 6-3 6-1 in rome '05 when canas was playing great. nadal plays the same game but plays it better, so not liking canas' chances.

canas can't beat nadal. bottom line is that nadal can outgrind canas, and has the offensive game that canas lacks

Canas is a good player, although I remember him hitting harder before his suspension, but Nadal does everything better than him.

Caņas has a better return of serve, specially on fast surfaces

yeah nadal is better than Caņas because he has great power and weight in his shot, plus he s a lefty

whereas the argentine lacks firepower

Caņas, Calleri or Ferrer could beat Nadal now because he is really tired but I donīt think they could beat Nadal at 100%

Canas would lose to Nadal on clay. But on a hardcourt it could be a different story

yeah caņas could bet Nadal on fast surfaces for sure

btw I do not think rafa is tired, he has played many matches but all pretty easily and not spending too much time on court.

DC, 22-Sep-06, O, Clay

RR Volandri, Filippo (ITA) N/A 3-6 7-5 6-3 6-3

It was Volandri in the DC tie to stay in the World Group last Sept.
He took the 1st set 6-3 and he leaded 5-4 and 0-30 in the 2nd (2 points away of a 2-0 sets lead).

Thus far eveytime they played against each other, canas got blown off the court against rafa and was intimidated off the court. i cannot see a different result on sunday:D

Canas has a very very good return of serve but once again I would give Nadal the better return of serve.
