I know this topic probably come up very often but I'm still a beginner and in the process of finding my strokes. I dont know if anyone else do this but in a mtch or practice, I use both 1 hbh and 2 hbh depending on the situation. Anyone else do this? IS this a bad habit?
Also, what are the advantages / disadvantages of both 1/2 hbh?
Thanks

what situation, b/c if you use a twohanded for everything else other than slices and blocks, you have a two handed. but if on normal rally shots you vary, your just wasting time you couldve been improving on either or.
if yours is the second case, i suggest you get a coach to look at them both and tell you which one you should go for and hit only that.

Yep, thats what I do. Both of them feels kind of the same for me. Although the one hbh is harder to pull off, its feels a little better and satifying. I know generally, the 2hbh is more powerfully. But is the disadvantages? Whats the advantages to a 1hbh?

Besides slicing, when did Goran use a One hander?

i use both too but i find that my 1 hand is more powerful but usually less stable.
the only problem with having both is knowing wehn to use them. sometimes in a game, i get indecisive on which to use and usually lose the point. i think u should pick on or the other and work.

in the uso, he started blasting one handers once and the crowd went crazy.

i guess you could say for the one hander people seem to be troubled by high balls, like ad side kick serves out wide, and for the two hander, really low balls, like slices, are harder. i still suggest you get a pro to take a look at it and give his opinion.

Most two handers hit a one handed slice. Disguising a slice is one advantage of a one.
I believe it is better to pick one and stick with it (except for 2 handers using the slice) because I know someone who would get confused at higher levels when there is less time to think. It kept his game from developing past 3.5 until he picked the 2 hander.
in the uso, he started blasting one handers once and the crowd went crazy.
Hmm, got a clip? I've never seen him use one a one handed topspin shot, although he slices when late

I tend to use both. I use the one hander when I am tired, otherwise I prefer the two hander for control and power. With the one hander I get more topspin and slice. I'm a righty and place my right hand in the continental position and my left hand in the eastern position for better topspin using a 2hbh. Also the extended length frame that I use helps with my backhand in general.

i hit a two handed backhand for over 10 years. i switched to a one handed, and 3 months later it was more powerful and more reliable than my two hander. i'm a tall guy, though.

My two hander is really bad for simple rallies. It goes way too high, but manages to get two feet within the court. I tap my one hand back hand for rallies, but i usually tend to slice during defense and attack with 2handbackhand
