I know that those variations aren't limited to Wilson. My unmodified Prince NXG mid is spec'd at 12.3 oz, but it weighs 13.0 with only an overgrip. Makes it hard to know what to trust.

The overgrips that I use weigh 0.7 oz. If you're using 0.7 oz overgrips, then your racquet is at spec. BTW, my Redondo is spec'ed at 12.1 and weighs 12.06. With an overgrip it is 12.8 oz. Close enough for me.

OTOH, my K90 is spec'ed at 12.5 and it weighs in at 12.8 with a string dampener or 12.7 without. That's a pretty big variation in my book.

well overgrip might be an issue , having said that my Yonex RDS 002 TOURS are still dead on accurate on specs despite an over grip..i will try to weigh n six ones without the over grip...

My son and I had 7 Rdx MPs at one time and all were within .05 oz of each other. I haven't found any other manu. with the same consistency.

I don't think one overgrip can ever be .7 oz... they are generally 5-6 grams from my understanding which translates to about .2 oz.

The general consensus here is they are 5-7 grams:

Those our the measurements that I have on one of my Redondos using an electronic scale at the office.

0.7 ounces all from an overgrip on the scale? Btw, what kind of overgrip is it?
Or did your Redondo weigh 12.8 and you subtracted the 0.7 ounces assuming the Redondo is 12.1 ounces.

I added two wilson overgrips to my new k factor 95 and it added exactly .3 oz to the weight...btw the stick also had a rubber band for a dampner..

I weighed it before and after. 12.06 before, 12.1 spec, 12.8 after. The racquet is at the stringers and I'm not sure when I'm getting it back (next Tuesday at the earliest). I don't recall the type of overgrip that I put on it.

I weighed mine when I first got it. It was 12.2oz strung. Weighed it just now with Yonex OverGrip and it was 12.6oz. Weighed another overgrip just to verify and, as expected, it weighed 0.4oz.

each prince, head and wilson overgrip is .2 oz. throw the scale out the window if it measures .7 oz for a overgrip.

What kind of string do you have in it? If it's poly...Poly string is heavier than every other kind of string so that could be part of it. Add an overgrip, a shock thingy and it adds up.

Mine are at 12.6 with no lead. The only extra thing on mine is the head protection tape which I have always used...along with the overgrip and shock absorber.

I think that I have a problem with the scale based on my weighing of another racquet this morning. The scale is meant for heavier things but the readout does go to hundreths of an ounce. There is a postal scale but it is password protected so the shipping person would have to be around for me to use it.

He must use lead tape as overgrip.
