He has not played on the tour since 2001! Lost a close match to G Lapentti 57 76 16... worth a mention i think.

Actually, yes, I do. He must be like 50 years old now or something. No, seriously how old is he? He was a decent middle of the pack type journeyman player in the 90s but never considered any real threat.

I always remember mixing up with his name with Marc Kevin Goelner who was the real hot prospect, not Ondruska.

What ever happened to Goelner by the way? He had the one nice run at the French, then don't remember a single thing about him after that.

Anyway, all things considered, a pretty decent scoreline against a decent challenger level player in Lapennti's younger bro, considering how long he's been out and how old he must be now.

Anyone know why he's attempting a comeback? Or was this just a one-time for fun or a favor type deal?

He's 35. I can't believe you guys have ever heard of him, he only had 2 tour victories according to his bio.

I remember him well. Very good match against Chang in Miami (won 75 61)

He did better than 2 tour victories:
Highest Ranking:27 (10-May-93)
Singles Record:118-147
Singles Titles: 0
Doubles Record: 113-133
Doubles Titles: 4
Prize Money: $1,835,129

He was one of the players that came to my mind when I was trying to figure who was the best player without a tour title. Thought Bengoechea was better

yup remember him also.
Goellner I believe came down with several injuries that ruined his career.

Pat Rafter beat him in a 5 setter back in the '95 Aus Open...
Along the way to his 4th round asswoopin from Agassi...
I remember him as a super tall baseline lumberjack..

not having played on the tour since 01 is not EXACTLY true. he has occasionally played doubles with brendan evans in futures/challengers, who he was coaching
