View Full Version : What is your preferred tennis shoe?

05-11-2007, 06:56 PM
I was using the Lotto Raptor Speed, but they only lasted a few months, and I don't know what shoe to get next. I want a durable shoe (last 6 months at least), and I've never preferred 1 brand over another, except for Prince shoes, which I just don't have a feel for. I play 3-4 times a week for about 1 hour- 1 1/2 hours on hard courts, both indoors and outdoors, but I'll start playing a lot more as the summer nears.

I'd like to see what everyone's choice shoe is, and feel free to post comments on why you like that shoe, as I am currently undecided on a shoe.

I'm loving the Green/Silver Fila Punto's at the moment. Not the best for comfort but great weight.

yeah, the all court originals are great, I don't know what I was thinking when I ordered these less than mediocre Vapor IIIs. My next pair is either gonna be the propulse, the new all courts, or the Vapor IV (just b/c thats the only one I've heard good things about).

The Breathe Free line from Nike has worked wonders for me. But the latest "Cage" version.. not so much. A great shoe, but I have broken two pairs on the bottom in between the hard plastic and the soft foam on the back of the shoe. In the process of sending my second pair back, I plan on going back to the Breathe Free III's.

Yeah the Breathe Free 2s and 3s are my shoes of choice. I like the 2s better, as they are better looking and more durable.

Thanks for the comments. What stinks is that I have big feet (Size 11 1/2), and all the adult shoes are so expensive!!!

Umm.....They stop making kid shoes at like size 6.5. So you must have been in adult sizes forever, along with everybody else. What's the big deal?

Also, what are your experiences with the Barricade's 6 month outsole warranty? Do the Barricades usually wear out before 6 months, or do they last a bit longer? I play 3-5 times a week always on hard courts, so if they wear out before 6 months, it will be a better deal cause of the warranty.

I'm a Adidas Barricade III fan :D

Nike breathe II's son

fila torneo I was the best in terms of weight and agility, but my favorite of all times is still the original nike air resolves. havn't tried my torneo IIs on the court yet, but if they have a bit more support than the torneo I then i should like it

I realy like the Yonex SHT series..they are in so many sizes, so I can wear em!

05-24-2007, 05:37 PM
Vapor IIIs and Breathe Free IIs

I buyed the Barricade IV's last week and they are superior to Barricade III's, so now I'm a new Barricade IV fan! :D

Everyone seems to love barricades. Is it a good shoe for bigger people?

06-02-2007, 11:24 AM
Barricade IV's, all the way :) Oh, and I recently got some feathers

06-02-2007, 11:41 AM
Adidas Tirand 2

Barricade 4.

As for the warranty, I have yet to bust a pair of shoes in 6 monthes. I recently tore up my first pair at the beginning fo the high school season, and my new pair is starting to show some wear. Hopefully I can get them shredded and sent in before the warranty, because I'd love to be able to get a "free" pair. But if not, it just means that Adidas is doing something right with the durability of their shoes. I just use my old Barricades for work and paintball, so it's all good.

Vapor IVs. SOO comfortable, and great traction as well.

06-04-2007, 09:58 AM
BARRICADES! I used to play with the two's, but now I use the IVs, which I think have a bit more cushioning in the toe.
