Though both have switched to smaller heads and thinner beams both still make as many errors as they did when wielding oversized head/thicker beam frames. I wonder if they still use natural gut. Perhaps the string is just too powerful for them. Perhaps a hybrid stringing with luxilon or pro hurricane would give them the control they need to make fewer errors. It's a thought anyway. What do you think regarding this racquet change- still too much power or do you notice any improvement?

Same >>> Serena is still winning slams and titles.

Wondered the same after seeing Venus play. She was overhitting all the time. A poly with more topspin potential and a little lower tension should do it.
With Venus, it's a matter of technique and poor hand-eye coordination. If less power comes from the racket and/or strings, fewer errors from her is marginal. Plus, I think her confidence level isn't the best at the moment. Polyester strings and swinging with more topspin just might snap her already fragile wrists.
With Serena, she always likes to hit big. Less power from the racket just boosts her confidence if she can swing big (or even bigger), and scream louder while keeping the ball in a few more times, that translates into more points and matches won.
