Now me and my doubles partner are itching to play some tournaments weither we win or lose. But we just joined the USTA and don't know anything about the level of tournaments and how it all works with ranks and stuff like that. What do the level of tournaments mean, what's the highest and what's the lowest? (Which do really good players enter) Do I have to play qualifying matches? For any north carolina people what are some good tournaments to enter.

Well, tournaments range from levels 5-1. 1 is natinal stuff, 5 is the lowest. They all dole out points. To play in natinals, and level 2s, you need a certain amount of points to get in the main draw. If the point criteria isn't met, you have to qualify.

For me in Washington State. Rookie is the lowest level tournament, then challenger, and then champs.
Rookie is basically for kids who just started playing tennis. If you've been playing for a while already, I suggest that you just enter in a challenger tournament.

In Texas we have Gran Prix (doesn't count for points), Zats (first level for points), Champs, and then Super Champs.
In NC there are no levels like champs, just enter some smaller local tournaments to start out

whoa. I thought the levels were all the same where ever you go... In Missouri it's Novice (no points) Grand Prix, Futures, Supers, and Sweets from lowest to highest.
