A lot of pros use semi-western forehand grip I was wondering if any use a eastern forehand grip.

I think many pros SLIGHTLY vary their grips depending upon the shot they want to hit. Sampras used something pretty close to an Eastern for many shots.

touring pro's know how to use all the grips, varying them on different situations. eastern, western, semi western, continental, extreme eastern..maybe not hawaiian

i once read that federer uses a semi-western/semi-eastern
which is like a centimeter between those two?

Davenport and i believe Clijsters uses an eastern grip

Federer uses it when he wants to flatten the ball.

clijsters is not an eastern at all. Davenport, yes, but she retired.

Shriekapova does use an Eastern. After watching Santangelo, pretty sure she uses that as well. Her strokes were flatter than pizzas.
