The old man still ranked in the top 300. Hats off to him

I think that when a player retires they have the option to have their names completely removed from the ranking system, and I thought Agassi did that but he didn't.
He has 3 more tournaments left on the calender before his ranking points dissolve.

Damn he is dropping. Do you think he could get a wildcard to Wimbledon, or will he have to play in the qualies.

I'm guessing he could have a wildcard if he wanted to, and if he showed somehow that he can still play. Didn't Serena had one at the Australian Open or something ?

Nah Agassi will want to play Sampras in qualies after Sampras gets through pre-qualies. At least, that's the only rational possibility.

He has last years Wimbledon 3rd round, US Open's 3rd round and some other tournament's points.
Good enough to be #203

Like someone said, he has a few points from some mediocre results he had last year. Big deal. If Blake, Gonzo, Roddick retired same time as Agassi they would be lurking around the 80-100 in the rankings. So?

Maybe you need to stop projecting.. maybe then your posts would start to make more sense.

I'm just saying Agassi's ranking right now does not merit a "hats off to him" comment. His other achievements, yes. But that's not what the OP's point is.

That's gotta be deflating for the guy at #204.

Wrong. They would lose a lot of points that they didn't defended

i thought agassi requested for his name to be removed? i remember not seeing his name in the 20s anymore some time after his final match at the USO. It definitely was not in the top 100s anymore either.
