Hello there everyone!!
What the best 95-100 sq in racquet for a flat hitter??
Ive searched the forums, and most suggestions come in the form of a midsize racquet. Im a solid player but would like something that is still forgiving on my off days, as well as when i play on clay, preferably something not below 95 sq inches.
Some may suggest i learn to hit with more spin. Please let me assure you that i have never had any problems producing spin as my technique is sound after many years of coaching, i just love hitting flat.
What do yall think?? (please excuse my texan colloquialism) :)
lm radical is a good choice

Anything with a 18x20 string pattern. Racquet weight/size/preference is up to you, generally dense (18x20) patterns in mid-plus sizes seem to be the favorite of flat hitters.

Wilson nBlade 98 is a wonderful control racket with a forgiving sweetspot and plenty of "spinability."
oh yea, try the rds 003 too

The nSix-One 95 18x20 has plenty of oomph and control, if you don't mind that much static weight.

I really like the control of the dunlop aerogel 200, I've hit some wide angle shots with little to no topspin.
Definitely add this one to your demo list.

My PK type R is good for all shots.
Other than that I second the storm and nblade. M speed is also very good for all shots.

Lots of great recommendations above. I agree that a dense pattern, 12 oz or so stick is ideal. I have a similar game and have had great luck with the FXP Prestige MP (I also hit with the nBlade and it was a bit low powered for me but a fantastic and comfortable racquet and worth a look). Good luck!

Dunlop AeroGel 200, Wilson (K)Factor Six-One 18x20, Head Radical or Prestige MP.
Turbo Shark MP (100), is my choice today
we've been playing with players' rackets. But it is just unfair to play a guy with a PD, with a mid size in our hand. it is just stupid :p
As i am getting older, i should get smarter if not richer.

Thanks a bunch guys!!
Right now my front runners are:
-dnx 10 mid
-nblade
-ag200
-mfil200
I picked these because i love the feel of flexy racquets and these are readily available for demoing. Ill tell ya how it goes! :)
Ps- someone also suggested the o3 tour, but im not so sure about that one.

centercourt8, I don't mean to hi-jack your thread, but why do flat hitters prefer 18 mains, control?

18x20's tend to have a more predictable, less powerful response when it comes to depth control. If you hit with topspin, then this is less of a concern since the topsping greatly aids in depth control. Poly definitely helps the 16 mains in this department, however.

Many Head racquets have this setup, no? A few Wilsons too. I don't know if I am a flat hitter or not b/c my rally ball has spin, but the putaways are pretty flat.

Thomas Bird-Itch-
I cant really explain why, i guess moist's answer is a good explanation. If i want to hit a deep ball into the back court consistently, a 16 x 18 95sqin+ frame works great. But when i want to go for those dont pass the service line extreme angle shots, then a flat swing path doesent work so great with a 16 x 18 95+ frame for me. With the 18x 20, i can do it all, plus im coming from the pc600 so i think im just more accustomed to that pattern anyway.
I just had a demo session with the four frames i decided on.
Mfil 200- absolutely LOVED the shots i could make with this racquet, but is a beast to swing around and dont think i could handle it in a four hour clay match in my current physical condition. Also the sweet spot was pretty mediocre in size.
Ag200- Very similar to the mfil, more spinny, easier to get around, and sweet spot seemed a little bigger. The downside is that offcenter hits were pretty jarring and reminded me of the ps 6.0 85.
nblade- excellent racquet, does everything CONSISTENTLY well, especially from the baseline, but was a little light, and my opponent commented that my balls felt easier to handle for him. Unfortunatley, i really want that heavy ball result, so its a no on this frame.
Dnx 10 mid- I think i got a winner. Hits very heavy balls, easy to hit flat, can pull off some pretty nice angles, my 1hbh felt good, was solid at the net, and was serving bombs pretty easily.
I think im going to go with the dnx but want to also test out the o3 tour midsize as well just to make sure.
Thaks everyone and feel free to chime in with your experiences if you like.
Thanks again!:D
