That way he is much less likely to get an injury. Besides - the only thing he is good at on other surfaces is butt-picking - amirite? :|

hmmmm....I guess almost taking 2 sets off the greatest grass courter ever at last years Wimbledon final means nothing. Also that no one has made it to a wimbledon final after winning the FO since Borg means nothing as well.

Yeah, Nadal should definitely retire. He's getting old, and dropping a set to some guy in the FO final is really pathetic. I think it's fair to say that his #2 rank was obtained by pure and simple luck, and that shortly (10 years, give or take), he will drop.

lendl did it in 1986 and 1987.
agassi did it in 1999.

Also, Edberg made the finals of both in 89 - of course losing both. The same thing happened to Courier in 93.

The hardest thing, of course, is to win the big match. Getting there is not even half the battle.
