I wear boxers and they soak up so much sweat from my groin that I get wedgies after 4+ hours of playing in the sun. What do you 4.0+ guys wear? I feel like I have sweat glands in my scr0tum--do I?

I wear briefs for sports. Although I'm a 3.5, so maybe our *******s are different.

I wear briefs. I don't like wearing boxers when I play sports, the sweating is a problem with them.

I wear briefs and both my underwear and tennis shorts are soaked almost every time.. I wonder what pros wear. I don't think they use their restroom break all that often

dri-fit compression shorts are the way to go. no sweat, and you really dont even notice them.

What do you guys think about boxer briefs? Are they better?

Why stop at 4.0? Find out what kind of undies Fed wears and you could be feeling just like him down there :)

Cotton briefs usually are ok for me. If you are really sweaty get underarmour or something similar. They work pretty well but are expensive for a pair of undies.

Under Armor compression shorts are the best, period.

Boxer briefs and sports briefs from banana republic.
they're very comfortable even, when you're drenched in sweat.

Definitely tight fitting breifs. Just too much unwanted "action" going around with boxers and boxer breifs, if you know what I mean. ;)

i like the underarmour boxerjocks...to me nothing feels worst than sweaty nasty briefs after playing tennis...but that's the thing, i only notice the discomfort when i'm taking them off and getting ready to take a shower. i never notice it while i'm playing

the underarmour boxerjocks are pretty expensive

I can't stand briefs because my thing pops out from the side sometimes, and sometimes that causes major chafing. Who wears boxer briefs and how are they?

Boxerbriefs are good for keeping things in place. I don't like wearing them on hot days. If you get cotton ones they will be soaked.

If you want moisture wicking plus lack of movement get Under Armour compression underwear. I haven't come across anything better.

...and I use all of 'em, depending on...well, depending on what I find in the morning when I'm trying to get my tennis gear on:

- A jock

- Underarmour or similar

- Commando (i. e., "nothing")

Champion "trunks". Kind of like a boxer brief. 2 pairs for 9.99 @ Target.

I wear boxer briefs when I play tennis.
I had all the problems mentioned above with boxers, so I have switched to boxer briefs and I won't go back to boxers when I play tennis.
I also noticed that coolmax underwears are also available too. They probably are better than cotton underwears.

...what is with this "boxer shorts" discussion? Haven't you ever heard of athletic supporters? You call yourselves jocks, how about wearing one?

Any form of Lycra-based compression shorts. You can find them for under $10 at the big box retailers or you can pay over $40 for the brand names. They all work. They are all nothing more than fancy polyester.

They wick away the sweat and don't bind or cling to tennis shorts.

But in name of decency and the prevention of unsightly bumps and bulges, always wear something over them. :)

Why a thong of course. Allows for maximum ventilation and minimum restriction.

Fruit of the Loom or Hanes, whichever one is on sale. :p

No cotton underwear. Ever. For anything. Coolmax or other wicking fabric for all of your underwear. I have a variety of brands & like REI and Patagonia briefs for sports (or boxer briefs on cooler days).

In the m i d w e s t it gets super humid in the summer, so UA or Nike compression shorts are the way to go. I can't stand playing in boxers.

I read some where that UA's compression shorts chafe. If I were to buy only one pair of wicking fabric underwear, which one should I buy?

Compression underwear?! Sounds painful.

I really think that 'coolmax' underwear doesn't affect you at all. i wear boxers all the time, nothing special for tennis because i really don't care what my crotch feels like.. unlike it itches or hurts

Under Armour for the courts. Marks & Spencer's hipsters otherwise.
