how many wins in USTA Tournaments do you need to become a seeded player in a USTA tournament draw?

Yea your right. Seeds only make people too confident or just nervous. It's better not to really think about it.

Junior seeds in Colorado are a joke. They base it all on a points system, so the people that play a lot of tournaments are always higher. I beat a kid 6-1, 6-0 last year and he's seeded in this next tournament because he plays one llike every week. He has a 10-23 record in tournaments but he gets points. That's stupid.

Yep I completely agree. That's why I also think that the rankings are also a joke. Becuase you get points for retires and defaults, and becuase it's based on points. So like you said kids who have enough money to travel and play a bunch of tournaments get more points, and obtain a higher ranking.

yea I agree with them.. in my first tourney a couple years ago I had a bad draw and had to play the 2nd seed.. I thought I would lose but beat him 6-0 6-1 and lost to an non-seeeded player next round

when i played in ZATS in 12's and 14's the seeded players were usually just pushers who played a tournament every month and rarely won the tournament..but seeded players in my supers tournaments are for the most part always the best players and very rarely lose in the first few rounds.

seedings are only based on ur ranking, not skill level. highest ranked player in tourney is seeded 1st and so on.

in most tournaments i have played in, the person that won the tournament was either not a seed or a very low seed. When i won my tournament i was 8th seed (last seed possible.) I was telling everybody before the tournmaent that i was gonna win the tournament, i just felt it was my time, and i new that the tournment was the one i was going to win.
