I would say southern cal, Florida comes a close second.

Chicago and New York are also tough sections.

I'd say SoCal has the most good players. But an average 4.0 in the PNW will always beat an average 4.0 from SoCal because the PNW has no 5.5 level. So 5.0 in PNW = 5.5 in sections that have 5.5, and 4.5 in PNW = 5.0 etc. That's why PNW and other sections that don't have 5.5 tend to do best in nationals. (I have won a national NTRP singles title, and so has one of my hitting partners).

Southern is awfully hard...I lived in ARK for a few months, watched the tourneys and it was scary how hard they hit.

I would say the places where it's the most sunny. There's a direct correlation between depth and climate.

Now, I'm not blaming my own "weakness" and the relative lack of depth on the weather, but something has to be said for near perfect weather and sunshine for the majority of the year.

Chicago and New York are also tough sections. That's true, ******* is brutal, especially with a top 5 national B16s player there.

Even though you shoudln't have started this because it usulay ends up with a fight and someone getting banned. I think Florida and Texas are hard. I have played tournaments there when i vactioned their and their wasn't a bad kid in the draws.

National rankings...

Boys 14 Top 20: 5 California (Illinois is second with 2)
Boys 16 Top 20: 8 California (Florida is second with 5)
Boys 18 Top 20: 8 California (Florida and Tennessee both have 3)

Of course, not sure which section the Californians are repping. In the Boys 18's, I know for sure 4 of the dudes are from cities in SoCal. Don't recognize the other cities.

I am from So cal and think that it is without a doubt the toughest section. However, i think that the most up and coming section is Texas

It actually depends what age group your talking about. I play in the 12's, and I think Eastern is the toughest section. There are lots of good kids like: Daniel Kerznerman, Noah Rubin, Thomas Pura, Quentin Monaghan, and etc.
