Pro's String Patterns

Do most pros use a closed or open string pattern and why? Is there an advantage to one or a disadvantage to another?

not sure what most pros use..
but open string pattern = more power. and usually less control...
and the opposite for closed string: generate your own power

That notion is if you're considering the same tension with both string patterns. but if you lower the string patter on a 18 x 20 pattern on the same racket with a 16 x 19 but slightly higher tension, then both rackets will perform simillarly in terms of power.

But at the same tension, you're right, an open power would help you generate more power.
