Hey is anyone going to be at Bollettieri these 2 weeks or going there soon? I'm going there tomorrow for 2 weeks, so if anyone is down there and wants to hit let me know. Hopefully I'll have a chance to hit with zcj if he gets done with his ITF's.

Unfortunately no, I'm going to be at a Nike Tennis Camp for the next two weeks or so. But I should be heading to the Academy near the end of August. If you could, I'd really appreciate it if you could hit me up with an e-mail telling me how it was.

Make sure to try the pudding in the cafeteria...It was my favorite :)

Without a doubt, the pudding was good, my roommates and myself stockpiled the stuff last year when I was there. I went for three weeks. Also, Reggie's has good smoothie-type things. :) Have fun there, it's a blast and you can learn so much.:D

Yeah, when I was down there a few months ago, my friends and I stuffed it in our pockets and brought it back to the villa. One of the puddings fell on the ground and shot pudding everywhere and I've still got that pudding on my tennis shoe to this day

Yeah, I'm staying in Academy East (been here since Sunday). We had the afternoon off today (beach trip) and so I just decided to take a nap and relax. Food is pretty good except they rewarm the spaghetto a lot haha. It was REALLY tough the first day I was like "screw this" but it gets a lot easier everyday. I also get to hit indoors with some other guys with Nick's assistant (because Nick is out of town, or otherwise he'd be there with us) Carlos. A lot of fun, a lot of work, a lot of cool and good guys I have met.

How do u feel it compares to your training at home? Are you getting better? Are the kids your playing with really good?

Like, how hard do they hit? How fast are their serves?

Matt_MS, yeah you went there this year at the exact same time I went there last year. Nick goes to the first week at Wimbledon I'm pretty sure.
Yeah, you get better, but you train with kids at your same level unless you are misplaced in a lower or high group.

Yeah I definitly feel an improvement. I'm on the court from 545 am to around 5pm with some breaks in between. They changed my form on my serve and shortened my forehand backswing. Also they helped me improve my 1 hander. I'm probably top 1 or 2 in my group, but my matches have been against the boarders instead of people in my group so I can get beat worse, etc.

Is there a branch of the Nick Bolletieri academies anywhere else besides Florida?

How are the clay courts?
Forehand Forever

Theres only one red clay court that you can't use unless you're extremely special and have money and the rest are just hard-tru courts.

Yeah the pudding is really good haha.
And I got to play on the red clay once this week but it wasn't for me I was hitting with someone really good, and they wanted to watch him hit.
My video is online but they blocked youtube on these computers so I can't put it up yet. Once I get it up I'll post a link, it's really cool.

Matt, you're pretty lucky hitting on that red clay. Was Nick watching? When I went we had Nick watch us hit forehands, backhands and volleys because the person that organized the trip used to work at Bollettieri. I've got a video too but it's not great cuz I was playing horrible the whole week I was down there.

That's cool. How was the red clay down there, though? Oh and what do you usually do for conditioning?

Aside from drilling everyday for about 3 hours, there is an extra hour of "IPI," or International Performance Institute. In that we do a lot of sprints, stretching, running, etc. A lot of people in the short time program skip it, and I'm in accelerated so the person who runs that usually tells us we don't have to go since we've been drilling since 545 in the morning.
And to whoever asked, Nick is at Wimbledon, so he wasn't there to watch, but his assistant, Carlos, watched us (usually is with Nick when he's watching juniors play). They like me because for the most part have the "Bollettieri style," which is an aggressive game and a huge forehand.

I did the Accelerated Program last summer when I was there but I decided to still do IPI almost daily. I regretted it for the first week, but for the last two it was worth it, especially when the entire day was on the clay courts for me.

I skipped IPI one of the days because my head was killing me and my groin felt retarded but other than that it wasn't that bad. We played dodgeball on the last day and my team owned this team full of kids from England
It was kinda like my whole group that went down with me vs the whole British group. We owned.

How much is it for like a week or two for the Bolleteri camps?
One week is appr 1500 usd...please all remember that Nick is pretty old guy and does not coach there that much. Also there are 400 to 500 players so how could he work with everyone?
